I have a Dell Inspiron 700m w/ the extended battery. I'm looking for a very sleek and simple sleeve that i can just toss in my backpack and go to class. I really want to get the Booq Vyper XS, but my dimensions (11.7 x 9.25 x 1.5 in) are slightly larger than what is listed on the manufacturer's site. The dimensions of my 700m is also slightly larger than the ZeroShock 12" sleeve. Does anybody with a 700m w/ the extended battery own a vyper xs or a zeroshock 12" sleeve? How do you like it? I was hoping that it would stretch just a tad to accomodate the minor difference in size. Thank you!

Don't get the Vyper XS. Someone on the FatWallet forums recommended the Vyper XS for the 700m with the extended battery, they said it fit perfectly. I got one and it doesn't fit at all. I took the battery off and it fit, but even then I had to force the zipper around all the way and I'm afraid I might destroy the case. Also, I heard the Shinza fits the extended battery 700m a little tight, but it fits decently.

If anyone has any recommendations for a sleeve case for the 700m, I'll take them.

The 12" Shinza I bought does fit the 700m w/extended battery. But it's a very tight fit. It's actually a real pain to get into the sleeve. Maybe it loosens a bit over time but I only ended up using mine a couple times since it wasn't worth the trouble. Other people may have have better luck than me.

    Try Sumdex neoprene sleeve.

It fits Asus W5A so 700m shouldn't be a problem

I can't believe there's so few choices for sleeves. Anyway I saw on another forum that the Sumdex sleeve was 20% off which comes out to $11.99 plus tax on ebags during April. Today I went to ebags and they have the 20% off but the price is $19.96. Why is it more expensive? Did the regular price of this sleeve go up? I'm not sure if I should wait until it drops to $11.99 again.

I would personally recommend the Shinza ZeroShock 12-inch Notebook Sleeve for the Dell Inspiron 700m with the 8-cell battery life. I ordered mine a couple of weeks ago and found that, initially, it fits a little snug, but after leaving it in there for a few hours, it loosened up and now fits perfectly. You can find more information at this website:

    http://shinza.com/product_info.php?cPath=5&products_id=45

It's worthwhile to mention that the website is out of stock and will be for an undetermined amount of time. I went on eBay and ran a search for it; there are a couple of sellers to choose from and they run about 30 dollars.

i'll be getting my 700m next week so i want to order a case for it to keep it from getting scratched up in my bags.

what bags/satchels/sleeves do you all use, and do they work well?

im considering 2 options right now

    DELL
    Classic Leather Carrying Case for Dell Latitude D-Family / X1 / X300 and Inspiron 300m / 500m / 700m Notebooks
    $35.00
    [You Save $34.99]

    or

    RoadWired Skooba Sleeve Compact

just noticed there was a comments section. alot of people say it fits 700m w/ extended battery like a glove. can anyone attest to this?

not really a sleeve, but have you seen this case?

It so small, that other people are using it like a sleeve, and it can pull double duty as an independent laptop case.

And most important of all.. this has got to be the BEST fitting case for the Inspiron 700m with extended battery. Check out the 250+ reviews.. almost 90% of them use this for the 700m.

What is it about the Vyper XS sleeve that is so tight? Will it fit a 700m with the 4-cell battery attached?

And what about the Shinza sleeve? Will a 700m w/ a 4-cell battery fit in that one just fine?

If anyone owns either of these two, please due describe WHERE the sleeves are tight, etc. Thanks!!!

well i looked into the shizna sleeve and ruled it out since it looks like the padding would only be on the top and bottom w/ no protection on the sides. would be good for preventing scratches though i guess.

i think ill be ordering a roadwired skooba sleeve. ill let you know how it turns out.

Sounds good. I just ordered the Shinza sleeve, and am going to head out to Pasadena in order to try out some of the Vyper sleeves by booq. I'll keep everyone up to date.

By the way, I tried out one of those ACME Made sleeves (The Slim), and it was VERY nice, except for one thing: internally, the zipper is exposed. I don't know how much of an issue that is, but if I'm going to fork out $80 for a sleeve, it better be perfect! :)

Hey guys -- I just got the Shinza and IT's GREAT if you're looking for a simple protective sleeve. I was looking for something that I could easily place into my backpack, and this is it -- no handle, no shoulder strap, just a simple, thin, durable sleeve. Best of all, it actually fits the 700m like a glove.

    Check it out here.
