Sleeve for HP/Compaq 14" laptops w/ 12 cell

Anyone know what kind of sleeve options are available for the Compaq V2000, HP DV1000, HP L2000 series computers with the 12 cell battery option?

I've seen recommendations for sleeves from Sumdex, Crumpler, and other manufacturers, but all of these don't seem geared for these notebooks due to the 12 cell battery sticking out the back.

These computers seem pretty popular on this site... Anyone with the 12 cell option willing to share what they did in terms of a sleeve or other accessory for protecting their investment?

I don't know about you, but I'm gonna wait for the L2000 special edition carrying case that is coming out in August. It has a sleeve inside a case and it looks sweet. 70 bucks though, kinda cheap, but if you have the L2000, which it's tailorred for, it should fit perfectly no matter what battery and would also match ^^.

 

Thanks for the info. Wasn't even aware that there would be a dedicated case... Might wait just to see what it looks like (my L2000 has a build date of August 8).

 

I've been talking with the people at SFBags about WaterField Designs sleeve cases. They were able to obtain a 12 cell battery model of the L2000 and matched it to their size 24 horizontal sleeve case. I've got one on the way with a flap and shoulder strap (optional).

 

Good god, after you add everything, plus shipping, it comes out to be $99!

 

This is not a $20 case logic neoprene shell. I have one of those (and my L2000 swims in it). This is a high quality nylon sleeve lined with neoprene. It's made in San Francisco, and the price of the sleeve alone is $34--definitely reasonable in comparison to the cheap neoprene cases like the case logic that you can buy at walmart.

Plus, it's a great fit. I also ordered the shoulder strap and cover flap for a total of $77 shipped (these are my pics):



The shoulder strap is exteremely comfortable. If you insert the laptop battery up, the laptop fits comfortably and snuggly inside the bag despite the 12 cell battery.




The workmanship appears to be top quality, as is the material, and it's the sharpest, ultra-lightweight bag I've ever seen. There's also a pocket across the back that could be used for carrying a few papers or file folder. I am extremely happy with what I received and would recommend it to anyone else who isn't scared by the price. +10!

 

yea my friend has one of those waterfield design sleevs..his extended battery laptop fits just fine in his..........this might help; Before ordering th esleeve he emailed the company with his laptops dimensions and then they gave hoim a reccomedation.
