Hello there everyone! I was just wondering about Notebook sleeves.

I am going to be going on a trip to Arizona here in a few weeks, and then college soon after that. I want to have my laptop protected in the best way possible.

I have been looking at the Synergy Backpack by Wegner, and I noticed there is not really any padding on for the top of the backpack around the laptop area. So would it make sense to by a sleeve to put the laptop in, then put that in the backpack? Is that overkill? Since the laptop is already 15.4 inches, will it even fit in the designated holding area?

I was thinking that it might be good to buy a backpack that holds a 17 inch laptop, that way I know the sleeve would fit for sure.

Does anyone else do this? And if so, what sleeves are would be good for a 15.4 inch laptop?

    Thanks!

I have a MSI GX600 and have a neoprene sleeve I bought from BestBuy that was originally for the 15.4" MacBook Pro and it fits fine. I then insert it into a SwissGear IBEX backpack made for a 17"laptop and it all works and fits fine. The extra padding from the neoprene sleeve is great !!! I hope this helps you. God Bless :)

Thanks! So it's not something completely unheard of. Now I need to find a Backpack that holds a 17 inch screen and has a lot of space for my college books!

Someone mentioned the Spire backpacks to me and they are more expensive but come with a sleeve. So these maybe something you can look into. God Bless :)

I had looked into them before I decided on the Synergy. I am going to take my laptop to Bestbuy sometime and see if it fits in the Synergy with a Sleeve (I hope I can find a sleeve there too!)

I am just worried about the amount of space it has. I am going to have a lot of books to carry around come time for college!

WaterField offers the best sleeves for notebooks. A bit pricey though
