I've tried both the Wenger Swiss Gear Synergy and Urban laptop backpacks and both are a little too big for my frame. My laptop is 14.1". I'm about 5'7" 125lbs so I don't want the backpack to dwarf me which those two definitely did.

I need it to fit my 14.1" laptop, a couple 3-subject notebooks and a book or two.

Any suggestions besides the obvious Belkin Slim Backpack?

    <$100.

I went with the Targus A7 16" laptop backpack. It's pretty small while still having plenty of storage capacity.
