Hey there. I just got back from a trip in which my trusty old mini-backpack fell apart. I'd been using it for the last 8 years or so to cart around various small electronics. I need a replacement and I want to get something a bit nicer this time.

    Current capacity needs:
    • Blackberry Playbook Tablet (7")
    • Nook Simple Touch GlowLight
    • GameBoy DS
    • Small Camera
    • Cellphone
    • 3 Chargers
*Important point: I don't want a bag that all these fit into with extra space/room. I often put this small electronics bag into a larger bag (either a full size piece of luggage, a laptop messenger, whatever) so the smaller it is while still fitting that stuff the better. I.e. I don't want a case sized for a 10" tablet when that would be too big.

    Current bags I am considering:
Those are all fairly expensive bags. I'm hesitant to make a purchase over $40 without seeing the bags in question. I have tested a Larger Sized Ellis by Overland, and it was reasonably high quality. The others have good reviews.

I have a medium sized CourierWare messenger bag and it's great, but for this electronics bag I want something with zippers on it so I don't have to worry about things falling out when it is packed in a larger bag or thrown in the backseat.

I considered a Kavu bag as they have several options around the right size but the materials seem a bit weak. Looked like they weren't water resistant and would get/show dirt easily.

Does anyone have a suggestion of another type of bag for this purpose? If so I'd really like to hear about it, as none of these seem perfect. Otherwise does anyone have any of the aforementioned bags that can comment on quality/use?

I just discovered this awesome multi-purpose bag from a company by the name of Blue Lounge yesterday. While I don't own the back yet, I do plan to purchase it for all my electronics when I go travelling.

Amazon.com: Blue Lounge Design Bonobo Series Backpack for Up to 17-Inch MacBooks and Laptops (US-BP-01): Computers & Accessories

I know you said you wanted a small bag, but checkout the rest of the Blue Lounge lineup. If you can check out the review videos on YouTube which show off the bag(s).

Thanks for the suggestion! I didn't see anything in their lineup that was quite what I was looking for, but it does look like a quality brand. I've added it to bookmarks in case I end up purchasing a larger bag at a later date.

    Much appreciated.

    Any others?

I just use a shower bag from walmart, costed 10$ and holds my kindle, psp, chargers, and everything else I carry. I think it would fit your stuff pretty good.

Thanks everyone! And yeah, there's tons of iPad bags, but those are usually 10" bags which more space in those directions than I need. Looking good though, and I appreciate the responses.

How do you feel about 'tactical' bags?

The primary advantage of one is that most conform to the PALS system of modular webbing, which is flawed in some ways but still, very useful in that it's a standard for accessories to attach to webbing and bags equipped with it - so you can start with the base bag, then dress it up later. A sort of Barbie for Action Man.

A tactical iPad bag - and they exist - are to me the height of wannabe-tactical faker [insert French word for shower here]ry and I'd expect it to be carried by fat airsoft skirmishers on their commutes, but the fact that it's utility isn't entirely fake either for people looking for this kind of size of bag which is versatile.

When I wear 'civilian tactical' on the other hand, I like it to be so over the top and pretentious that there are no doubts I'm a genuine [insert French word for shower here].
Which is why I have (but admittedly rarely use) a 3A-11TS - yes, a $450 iPad bag - as well as a raft of gear from the same company.
