    Hi,

    I'm looking to see if there exists a smaller/lighter AC adapter for my Aorus X7. My current adapter is VERY heavy and bulky and I would love having a smaller one. The specs are:

    • Input: 100-240V ~ 2.34A 50-60Hz
    • Output: 19.5V, 9.23A (-) -- (o -- (+)
    • Weight: don't have a scale right now, but I think it weights around 1 kg (2.2 pounds)
    • Size: 15cm x 7cm x 2.5cm (5.9" x 2.8" x 0.9")

    I did a brief Google search and found some ( Amazon.com: Dell Slim 19.5V 9.23A 180W Replacement AC Adapter for Dell Notebook Model: Dell Precision M4600, M6300, M6400, XPS L702X, 100% Compatible with Dell P/N: A-0180ADU00-201, FA180PM111, JVF3V.***COME WITH MICROFIBER ADAPTER POUCH!! "STONE POW) but from the photos it seems it's identical in size and weight to the one I own.
    Thanks

    Well there's a good reason why its heavy.. It needs to provide that much power for dual GPU's + CPU+ everything else.. Its probably a 240W adapter so it will weight that much.. I wouldn't mess around and try to get a different one as if that one blows and destroys your computer, Aorus won't repair it as your warranty will be void..

    W=V*A

    So you need a 19.5V*9.23A = 180W adapter.

    Recently made a comparison of several 180W adapters (it's editable). Added yours too; apparently should've gotten the Aorus's instead of the FA180PM111 ... it's the smallest in the list :p.

    The weight is not going to go away, the slimmer ones are simply more compactly build and it seems yours is pretty slim to begin with. Also, as mentioned; 180W isn't for light systems, although you could get away with even a 75W provided you run from the HD Graphics only (which might be useful in the air).

    You could measure that Dell Slim by saving the picture and measuring and factoring the 3 prong (it's 19mm across). When you've done so; please add it to the list. Same thing if you succeed in finding a smaller one :) . Thanks. And yes, good tip; keep your old one for the warranty.
