    Not bad LaCie makes good prebuilt externals, but it wouldn't be much bigger to get a 1TB drive off newegg + an enclosure and save some cash probably.

    No mention about the size, if its same a regular 3.5” enclosure, then there is absolutely no point in paying $800. That is 4 times the cost of a 3.5” 1TB drive with an external USB enclosure.
    Unless it draws power from the USB port, this is going to be pretty much useless given the price.

    I'm almost positive it is using 2x2.5" 500GB drives. That means the risk of failure is 2x.

    Or,you can think of it like this : since there are two disks, the risk of losing all your data at once is 50% ?? :rolleyes:
