I am awaiting the arrival of my new Gateway E100M ultraportable and have started looking for a bag to settle on. As I look at pictures on various sites, I see bags stuffed with batteries, ipods, cords, mice, manuals, etc.....
The notebook I bought comes with an external CD\DVD drive which I don't anticipate needing to use too often as I have Large USB Keys and SD cards - so a pocket for that.....
I imagine I'll need a nice small organizer pocket to store USB Keys and SD cards....somewhere to put a small mouse (wired or wireless ?) and maybe an extra battery.
I don't have an Ipod but I do use a Palm TX, a cellphone, and I have a small XACTI videocamera...
Are there any other great essential accessories I've not thought of that anyone uses everyday and I should be considering ?
TIA,
TBFL

My personal bag has quite a bit. Along with my laptop I have:
Razer Diamondback
Travel Mousepad
SD Cards
Flash Drives
External HD
Camera
Ac Adaptor
Ipod
Connecter cords (Camera, Ipod, Etc.)
Magazines
Paper
Pens
Business Cards
AND
Snacks -
I carry my mouse and the AC adpator, a water bottle and an umbrella. That's all!
-
I used to carry alot, but the weight along with my binders and all got quite heavy. Pretty much my notebook, the charger, and my v400 mouse. I have a USB key on my keychain, so its not needed there.
-
My backpack sounds a lot like Blake's although I will be adding a second ultraportable notebook to it as work is giving me a 10.6"(or whatever size it is) Fujitsu Lifebook.
-
laptop, adapter, and whatever 7-lb textbooks i have to read that day. those things, and cell phone (all the regular "in your pocket" necessities)
-
in my grab and go bag, Horizontal Brain Cell from Tom Bihn, I add
1) a creative Zen Xtra, an
2) 8-1/2x11 sprial notebook,
3) a pen and a pencil,
4) Koss SparkPlug Earphones,
--sometimes a Logitech older headset in case it's too
noisy for the laptop's mic.
5) A microfiber cloth with cleaning fluid.
6) My computer working glasses.
Don't carry a power adapter, water bottle, lunch...And all of that fits nicely into the external pouch of the bag and the laptop with secondary battery attached fits inside the bag all safe and cozy. -
My notebook accessories that i carry everyday...
ac adaptor
extra battery
external HD
usb stick
HEadsets -
I have to pack light. My laptop can get quite heavy
So:
- AC adaptor
- blank CD/DVDs
- ethernet cable
- phone cable
- headphones
- USB memory key
- digital camera
- USB cable for camera or even card reader -
Adapter, GPS receiver (which is ~ 1/2 the size of my Razr V3), 2 blank CD-RWs, MS4000 Mouse, a 3 port USB hub, 3 USB cables (one for every possible situation), a few AAs for my accessories, sometimes my iPAQ, and sometimes my portable HDD.
-
I commute to the office via rail and shuttle every day (about 1 hour each way), and have AC adapters both at home and at work. Otherwise I have:
VX Revolution Mouse
Zune
Shure e5c earphones
Portfolio I bought at Walmart
Cell Phone
A few G2 extra fine blue gel ink pens
Guess it's easy to overload your case, especially if you have an ultraportable or thin and light. But that would defeat the purpose of travelling light. Something else essential that you'll want to pick up is a USB key. Everyone should have one of those. -
Other than my notebook/adapter/mouse, I don't carry much. But I always have at least a pack of hand wipes... NYC is nasty.
-
- Laptop
- Power adapter
- Mouse, Logitech v270
- Headphones
- Spare AA battery for the mouse
- Microfiber cloth
- Umbrella
- Textbooks + relevant papers for the day
- Drinks
The mouse, headphones and extra AA battery are inside a padded camera bag I bought for the sole purposes of protecting my mouse and headphones. I know, I'm a genius for thinking that up =).
Also like to add that I use a Wenger Synergy, which is damned awesome with all the pockets it has and protection it provides. -
Power brick.
Flash memory.
A bit of network cable (2m)
Small notebook mouse.
CD Bag. -
Hi,
I am buying a new laptop and I love to play flight simulator. Do any of you know whether i can buy a collapsible or mini joystick for flight simulator anywhere that can be used for travelling.
Thanks -
Normally my laptop ( duh), mouse, charger, sometimes controller, headphones, mp3 player, flash drive...should be all
