Thermaltake iXoft has some pretty good reviews (I do not have one)
and the benchmarks look pretty good for a passive cooler. 4-6 degrees C lower temps....

If you don't need some really cooling power, something as simple as a book or binder will adequately "protect the boys".

I have one of these, and I have been 95% satisfied with it. It fits my Dell D830 perfectly, as shown in this picture from Allsop's web site:

This allows it to fit perfectly in my laptop bag. It's very comfortable to use, but my only two complaints are as follows:

    1. When using it with the high-side furthest from me, it sits right up against my fan intake, which partially blocks the airflow. This is easily solved by just sliding my laptop to the side a couple of inches.

    2. When using it with the high-side closest to me, the little half-inch lip sits right up against the fan output port, which partially blocks the airflow. This is also easily solved by sliding the laptop to the side a bit, or by moving it back.

Neither one of these complaints are deal-breakers, but are things that Allsop could improve in future products.

    Hope this helps.
