I just use water and a microfibre cloth.

If there are some things where water won't do, I just end up using a shot from my eyeglass cleaner.

I don't think you can remove a scratch by cleaning. If you have some kind of dirt streak, you can remove it with a microfiber cloth, like those used to clean eyeglasses.

Water works for fingerprints, not scratches. For scratches, do what Fred said.

I always carry a couple of pre-moistened eyeglass cleaner towelettes in my notebook case. Won't polish out scratches though.

I got the monster microfiber cloth and cleaning solution package. It was like $20, but the solution will last me forever, and the oversized cloth is really nice and works great at getting everything nice and clean.
