    Hey people,

I've been looking for a tv tuner recently and thought I might as well get some speakers to go with it.
I'm won't be using the speakers for loud music at all - only for normal TV volume. I want the speakers to be relatively cheap, under £20 ($40) and absolute max of £25 ($50) .
I was just wanting some suggestions of decent manufacturers and what to look out for my needs i.e. watt power .

    Thanks, Jam.

i just got the ati tv wonder 600 usb tv tuner. I highly recommend it. nearly any computer speakers would work for your needs. But i would recommend any that come with a subwoofer for watching movies.

I would prefer brand new tbh. Thanks for the suggestion though

I'm probably gonna for the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-900 or WinTv-NOVA-TD. Both contain dual aerials for better reception. Plus, they are compatible with Windows MC .
I guess your right about speakers - any sort of speakers should do -stupid me, should of thought of that before opening the topic :D

Logitech x230/x240's should be in your range. They are perfectly fine for normal usage. Once they get cranked up, however, they distort like jello and sound just as bad.

Not a bad set of speakers for $40 though.

the logitech x-230's are pretty decent, and pretty low-profile speakers.
I have one of their cheaper $20 speakers, and they're perfectly fine for tv-watching. Although, my music is reserved for my akg k271's.
The JBL Duet(AL/WHT/BLK) series, seems to be pretty good too, if you don't want to sacrifice space for a subwoofer.

I will second the Logitech X-230 recommendation; I bought a pair for someone and they are pretty rockin' for the money. Clear sound, rather powerful bass, and they get loud too.

I have the v20's they serve me well, big enough to be powerful but yet still are portable with a carrying case and usb powered.

If you want ultra portable the v10's are like the little brother one of my girl friends has them and they sound good and she loves them.

I can easily take my v20's and my laptop to a party and dj (like a hotel party the kind i always throw) for home purposes if your not going to use them exclusively for a laptop or move them around I would just get normal house stuff, like a cheap mini sterio and just plug into the line in with a 1/8" into RCA adapter for like 2 or 3$

If you already have a stereo use that! If its too far away and you dont wanna mess with cords, maybe get a bluetooth adapter :p

I personally just got some bluetooth headphones and I LOVE them.
