Okay... I'm really happy cause I just bought a Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop at BestBuy a couple days ago... But to be honest.. I know absolutely nothin about computers....

My husband has a laptop too, but he gets irritated when we both have music playing at the same time.. So, to fix the problem, I found a pair of random headphones lying around the house. But, of course, with my luck, they didn't fit.

I looked in my user manual and researched all kinds of stuff on Google...but i just cant figure out what size..um..jack? my laptop is. I don't even know if i'm using the right word. would it be..plug?

I'm just lost... Can somebody please just tell me what kind or size headphones would fit? And any suggestions on brands? ....Please?

    both...
if the headphones at home are to small, then they are for cellphones, if too big, you will need an adapter or new headphones

    This is a 3.5mm plug.

If you don't have one that works, just go to any store like WalMart, for example, and ask them if they have a 35mm headphone. ;)

3.5mm NOT 35mm (35mm is rougly 9/10 of an inch, way too big)

35mm is more than an inch already?

    2.54cm (25.4mm) = 1inch??

and yes, it s too big

Instead of buying a new set of headphones, another solution would be to get an adapter if you want to keep using the headphones you got at home. I'm not sure if the ones you have are too small or too big, both types of adapters exist. If it's too small, then you'll need a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter. If it's too big, then you'll need a 6.3mm (1/4") to 3.5mm one. These adapters are easy to find at local electronic stores and only cost a few dollars.
