Hello, a friend of mine has a modern desktop, but an old screen (not TFT), but a screen with glass in front of it. It looks always that he has anti-aliasing enabled, also when he hasn't. It seems like his screen blurs it a small bit. Is there something I can buy for my laptop to place in front of my screen that gives the same result? (I've a 17inch screen.)

Run your laptop at something other than its native resolution, voila!

You want your screen to be blurred ?? Why  most people want a clear and sharp image on their screens.

Perhaps you want only the text to be blurred or smoothened? That can be done by enabling Cleartype Fonts. If you want everything to blur then use a lower (non native) resolution.

Maybe to make it harder for people to read over his shoulder?

I think he's looking for a "privacy filter" so people looking at the screen from off angle can't see what he's doing

Grab a transparent plastic shopping bag from a Chinese supermarket near you and tape it over your screen. lol, j/k.

But seriously tho. You want to blur your screen? That's the first time I've ever heard someone say that.

I don't mean really blurring, but just to let a game look better at a small resolution. When I look to my laptop screen (1440X900), I can see the small squares on it. With that friend of mine with his prehistoric monitor, you can't see them.
