Something wrong with my new Orochi

Whether I pair it via Bluetooth or wire it directly to my M11xR2, the mouse doesn't work. The system detects the device and installs drivers, but I went to Razer support and got the latest driver and even firmware updater myself, just in case. However, the only thing about the mouse that works is the right button in wired mode. That is it. No left click, no wheel, no side buttons; I can't even move the cursor. In fact, when I enter the Orochi configuration tool, it claims that the device is disconnected within a minute, even though it's not. I've quadruple-checked the batteries and even changed them out.

Did Amazon send me a bad mouse, or what? I don't think I've ever bought or received an electronic device that was simply defective right off the bat.

EDIT: Actually, I just found that everything except the tracking works. That means all button function as intended. However, moving the mouse still does not move the cursor. Any ideas?

Sounds weird, try reinstalling the bluetooth drivers. Also in wired mode it should be working perfectly.

Before returning it, I would recommend trying the mouse on another computer.

Yeah, it's wired right now, but it will not move the cursor...on the mousepad or any other surface. I'm forced to use the touchpad for that.

Can't right now; I only have one computer. But, I'm going out in a bit, so I will then.

Okay, I installed it on another computer. Same deal. No tracking. No cursor movement. RMA time?

Yeah, definitely. Or, try returning it and get a refund for something else.

Sent it back to Amazon for an exchange. New one arrived today and works just fine. That may have been the first truly defective item I've bought in my life.

Heh, I wish I could say I've been so lucky. :p I'm glad it worked out, though.
