    i got some altec lansing speakers and i did not notice the hiss until i got to college when my speakers are at high volumes and there is no music there is a hiss and im preaty sure that it was not their at home is their something i can do or is this normal or should i ruturn the speakers

    Does the hiss happen when they're not plugged into the computer? If so, then yes. If not, then it's just a spotty connection and sound card or whatever you're connecting them to. Best to not really worry about it. If it really bothers you, it's time to get a digital connection to your speakers.
