Bought some Creative T20 speakers, and I absolutely love them. However, They create a high pitched buzzing (mosquito sound) when turned on. The sound is produced regardless of what outlet, sound card, or connectors I use (I tried). Going online to the creative website, the forum basically determined that there are a 'bad' batch of T20 speakers out there, and that I bought one. According to one user, its the result of bad shielding from the power or something.

Regardless, from what you know of speaker technology, is having a high pitched noise coming out of your speakers all the time eventually break them (does the sound get louder etc.)? I can deal with the noise; when I play anything on them, I cant hear it. Also, when I have my headphones in the jack, I can't hear the noise either, which is awesome.

I'd really rather not return them, as I have returned a lot of stuff to best buy over the last few months, and as an employee, they probably won't appreciate it much longer.

Usually caused by a ground loop in the wiring. You can purchase a ground loop eliminator (like the HUM X) that will usually take care of that. If the noise is actually being caused by insufficient shielding, say within the speaker enclosure, then probably the best bet would be to exchange them. Especially if you see an indication that there was a "bad batch."

well.. problem is, all the speakers we have on the shelf are.. well the same batch. We've never added more to the shelf, as they don't sell very well (since they aren't on display, and are 135 bucks normally).

You must have been returning a LOT of stuff to Best Buy if you think the employees would remember you. Or did you give them some reason to remember you? (LOL) Could you just return them to a different Best Buy?
Then get them online so you would get a differnt batch.

Return to the next closest Best Buy or Exchange them at walmart ;) If you feel lucky, you can try to get an RMA directly from Creative, but they may tell you just to go exchange them...

He mentioned that he was an Employee, I sure hope they would remember him :)
