I use a flat screen TV when I use my laptop. Audio is carried to the TV via an HDMI cable. I have a Logitech 2.1 cheap set of speakers that I connect to the TV for gaming/music use. I put the TV at half volume and speakers at half volume to create a good balance of bass and treble.
This has always worked perfectly, but recently it seems like every couple minutes the sound shifts around. It's like the speakers kind of die down in volume, then kick back in after a little while. The drop in bass is very noticeable.
Any idea where this problem could stem from? Are my speakers getting old? Could it be something with the computer or audio settings?
Thanks

The amplifier inside the sub could be dying or overheating.
Try another source, like an mp3 player to see if you can replicate the issue. -
The best way to test this is to switch speakers around. Although that may not be possible if your system is one of those all-in-one self-contained units; this is their limitation.
