I'm trying to decide between 3 speakers.
    Logitech Z-5500
    ProMedia 2.1 Computer speakers
    Logitech Z-2300

Does anybody have experience with any of these? I can't decide which ones to buy. I like the z-2300 and promedia because they're 2.1 instead of 5.1. I could make the 5.1 system work, but the rear speakers might be mounted to the wall infront of me, which might mess up the sound quality? correct me if I'm wrong. So if anybody owns or has used any of these let me know what you think about them. Also, is there a way to control the sound of the subwoofer on the Z-5500?

I'm also looking at getting some new speakers, and like the looks of the Z-5500's. I notice they've been out for over 4 years at this point, are they still the best 5.1's to get for the price range?

Edit- Also, does the ASUS m50sv A-1 model support 5.1 speakers or would I have to upgrade beyond the basic sound option or something like a plugin soundcard?

Just my 2 cents but I got the Altec Lansing THX certified MX5021

Best speakers I ever owned and got them less than 100.00$ a while back.

    Amazing bass, and sound.

I ordered a set of the Z-5500's for $200 after a rebate, now I just need an answer to the other part of my question-

How will the speakers sound plugged into a laptop with just a default sound card? Are there any simple things like a USB soundcard that would improve the quality, or would I have to drop $150 on the Echo Indigo IO card or something similar?

    Halp! lol
