I have a laptop and i was looking for speakers for it for music and gaming. So im looking for 2.1, anything more seems useless.
The other thing i will need them for (and more importantly) is for music at home, for an appartment party or such. So i need them to be loud enough for 1 to 2 rooms.
    I was looking at newegg:

Altec Lansing VS4121BLK 31 since its free shipping. $75

    Logitech Z-4 $90 with shipping

    Logitech S-220 17 Watts 2.1 $30 after shipping.

I want to try and stick with names ive heard of (creative/logi/bose/lansing).
Budget is about $60-80. Anything above needs to be a really good deal worth keeping for more than a year atleast.

    Any input is appreciated

    Thanks
    Arjun

since u need a good amount of bass for parties and such, i would really recommend the z-4. logitech's 8" driver sub packs a very big punch for such a small enclosure.

i would recommend goin to a store and listenin to different systems yurself. it's the best way to decide which system to buy. do yur research at stores and buy online to save money.

If you can stretch your budget at all and maybe go for a real speaker brand, the Swan M10 at $109 from AudioInsider will blow all of these silly PC computer speakers out of the water in terms of stereo image, mid-range, tonal clarity and tighter bass response.

If you need a household brand, Klipsch ProMedia 2.0 and 2.1 are okay PC speakers in your price range.

probably a little more than you want to spend but the Z-2300's from logitech are sweet. The bass hits hard for parties and the sound is nice an clear.

the z2300's are basically an upgrade of the z-4. they're basically a THX-certified version of the z-4, so that would also be a great choice. :D
