    I would like a pair of speakers (preferably with a subwoofer, so 2.1), that I could plug into my laptop and into my XBOX via the standard red and white cables. What's the best I could get for as cheap as possible?

    For you, I recommend the Logitech Z-4. It has a jack that plugs in to your laptop and an input that can be used in conjunction with this to connect your Xbox to it.
