I've been looking for a bit better headset for my daily use.
During last weekend I tested two headsets to compare with my Creative HS-900.
SteelSeries Siberia Full-size Headset White and Plantronics Audio 350.

Both are remarkly better in sound quality than my Creative HS-900 for sure. Plantronics Audio 350 has a very nice and clear sound, but lacks a bit comfort and the looks is wierd. SteelSeries Siberia Full-size Headset however has exreme comfort and good sound quality. Better bass than the Plantronics one. And the Siberia White looks just to nice with my Znote. :D

But from what I've heard the SteelSeries Siberia Full-size Headset lacks in build quality. One drop in the floor and it's broken? Is there someone out there thats been using SteelSeries Siberia Full-size Headset and can comment the quality of the headset? Will I have to buy a new one after 3 months cause of broken wires or plastic?

I've had two Steelseries Siberia now, and the first one broke, so yes, the worst about them is that they break, but I had my first one for almost a year and I dropped them a whole lot, it lasted far longer then most other headseats I've had.

Hehe... yeah. 1 year might be the longest I've ever had a headset too. ;)

hey this thread is like 10 days old but can you tell me how the Steelseries Siberia headset compares to the HS-900? Say, for example, is the extra ~$25 worth the better sound/mic quality or would I be better off with an HS-900?

I'm not exactly an audiophile so I'm wondering if I would be okay with just getting the HS-900. I think the main issue is the level of comfort when it comes to headsets for me so is the HS-900 comfortable? And, I know that the Siberia headset is more comfortable but by how much? Thanks a bunch!

I would like to know the quality of the Siberia too. Its quite good looking with its White looks.

I wonder how great the audio quality really is, and if it can utulise 7.1 sound.

Whatever u buy dont buy Creative HQ-1400 ... they have a very cheap build quality & they are overpriced... i had one.. the Overhead Clip broke under normal usage & creative doesnt cover it under warranty.

I don't know about the mic on the Siberia, but the mic on the HS-900 is really good! The comfort is extreme with the Siberia headset though. And I would say the sound quality is worth the money. But then again, I didn't test the mic.

I'm still a bit curious about Siberias build quality. Creative HS900 can be slamed in the ground without taking damage. :)

I have an Icemat Siberia (Looks identical pretty sure nothing has changed over the brandnames) and I say that the build quality certainly feels luxurious, but breaks easily.

Just take good care of them, the sound quality is worth it. The 3d sound is spot on for Counter-Strike, and the bass response makes it very suitable for music also. I've worn them for about 5 hours straight and I almost forgot I was wearing them.

    The drivers are rubbish though.

I've had them for about 6 months now, some minor damage that doesn't affect the comfort or sound (or appearance).

Ye... that would I say too. it's not poor in any way. But I guess I must be carefull with them. I move around my lappie alot and hope for the headset to not break in the joints etc.
