    Hi all,

So one of my roommates has an awesome external hard drive setup, but even when no one is accessing anything on it, it makes a bit of noise with what seems to be reading and writing to the discs. Normally this would not be a problem, but it is right outside one guy's door and he says he hears it when trying to go to sleep.

Does anyone know if there is a setting to enable auto spin-down of the drives, or some way to stop it accessing the discs all the time even though nobody is using it?

As of right now we just turn it off, but I would like to know if there is a way around this (due to laziness).

    Thanks in advance!
