    Hey guy!

I just got my new 15.6'' hp notebook. I'm looking for a good case or backpack to carry my notebook to college. What are you guys using to store and protect your notebooks during your day to day use?

    Thanks!

I use a Belkin Neoprene Sleeve to protect my laptop from heavy books inside my Jansport backpack. It all depends on your preference.

    Thanks!

I do like the Slappa products! I was looking at this Slappa case, which seems very nice! But its quite exspensive. Any other suggestions?

i used to care about my laptop, but now I realized i don't, especially when I have accidental damage and full coverage on my laptop

put my 13" Dell M1330 in my Swissgear Pegasus along with two folders and my kindle(woot, fewer college books)

enough shoulder padding with no problems with strain

Yeah, SLAPPA is relatively speaking, expensive. Then again, people would pay for 1 month cable the same amount. :) But the quality (at least the bag that I have) is really outstanding. If I was buying this for myself, I wouldn't want to have a laptop in a shoulder bag - it would be too much of a strain for me. I already did the similar with my 13" laptop. 11 or 12" maybe ok if I wouldn't be carrying the AC adapter. Have you thought about the backpack? I assume laptop wouldn't be the only thing you'd carry as a student.

Swissgear are very good and very quality bags as well (I owned one), but they are a step below SLAPPA (both in price, and quality), in my opinion.

I keep it in a neoprene sleeve which I then put in my backpack.

Ha, I do the exact same thing with a Jansport backpack too. :D

I use a Lowerpro Messenger Factor M. It holds my Thinkpad T400 well (in a padded interior partition) and has been holding up well. It cost $15 from fleabay and is constructed decently. It has three interior pockets for whatever in which I put a spare laptop battery into and knick knacks. Lowepro has a lifetime warranty which is also reassuring.

All in all I'm satisfied with this purchase. It has lasted about 7 months now and I think I will hang on to it a little while longer :)

Laptop in a sleeve then into my Ogio laptop backpack while on campus. Going back home sitting on the Amtrak, goes into my Case Logic bag (laptop in the sleeve as well)

Whatever you do don't get a cheap carrier/bag, it's not worth it. It will either disintegrate after a short time, or kill the crap out of your connective tissue.

A good bag is not only constructed well, it's well balanced and comfortable to boot.

    +1.

If you get a backpack, make sure it has at least a shoulder and/or waist strap. These help a lot in carrying laptop + books.

Definitely true to get a quality and comfortable backpack. I use a roughly six-year old Jansport which has seem me through quite a bit of grade school and only now is it starting to fall apart after much use. It's a great bag, but it's just becoming a little too small and uncomfortable for all the stuff I'm putting in it.

I used to just throw my laptop in my backpack with my books and stuff. Never needed some stupid dedicated laptop carrying bag.

Yeah, I prefer having just one bag that does it all as opposed to two. It's more convenient to carry around.

If it's on your back then you shouldn't have it stolen and if you have a lot of expensive things don't just keep it lYing around

Wow where did you get this what you call pack back ? I needs one !!!

A plain zipless neoprene sleeve goes over the laptop and then they both go inside a Targus XL backpack.
