I need some headphones or studio monitors.

Sennheiser, what are the best for when used as studio headphones?

    The studio monitors are:

I'd suggest the Sennheisser HD 280 headphones. They offer excellent sound reproduction, and can be had for under $100.

    It is a hard question

it depends upon what type of music you are mixing

If you have the money I would get some of each because then you can hear if it sounds good on all media.

An example of this would be I just got new headphones (Ultrasone DJ1 PRO yesterday :D) and they are lively and have kick but I also have Sunnheisser HD580's and those are mellow and clean. Some songs song better on different headphones.

And for speakers I have B&W studio monitor with a Rotel CD player and those have a hifi sound while the Community Speakers I have are very live and harsh sounding (good for rock).

When you go to a studio you will see about 4-5 different types of speakers to see how the music sounds through different sources.

If you really got the cash then get a pair of AKG's.
