As the title states, I want a laptop-like typing experience on an external keyboard: short travel and the ability to reach high typing speeds. I believe this requires a "scissor-switch" design for the keys.
So far I've found the Logitech UltraX:

How does the key travel/feel compare to a notebook's keyboard?
I'm trying to get a thinkpad feeling keyboard. -

Um in the computer room here at work we have this ibm that looks like it was ripped right off a laptop
its flat with a short throw keys and even has the touch pad on it.

If you want a really fancy keyboard thats wireless and flat even tho its designed for HTPC it may fit your needs
