I am not a big audiophile, but i love my music and i listen to a lot of hip hop/rap/R&B. Basically the stuff i listen to usually has plenty of bass. So i would like a pair of headphones with good bass reproduction. I had been using the stock Apple headphones for a long time and had been perfectly satisfied with them. After my first pair of headphones broke i started using the Creative EP 630s which came free with my laptop. And i really liked them, they had good bass reproduction and they were noise isolated in ear head phones. Now my Ep 630s are giving up on me and I am looking for a new pair of headphones. I want them to be in ear noise isolated, and have no idea what to look for. I just googles bet headphones and found a CNET list which listed the Klipsch Image S4 as the best ones around, anyone know how good they are. If they are as good as CNET says they are i am gonna get them. My price limit is around 50-70$.
Also if anyone know any good audiophile forum please PM me. Thanks
Sorry for the misleading title i meant ear phones

The S4 is very nice for its price. I have a pair I use as my backup. It's very comfortable and if you get a nice seal provides ample bass for your needs.
-
I have the Image S4, got em on ebay for 60 bucks. They're great.
-
if you don't mind the box being torn up, you can pick up a new pair for $39 Klipsch S4 Image In-Ear Headphones w/ Bass NEW OPEN | eBay
-
I think if you were OK with the stock apple headphones you will ing love anything that cost more than $20.
-
Nuforce headphones any of them, the UL30 sounds amazing when it burns in the bass, treble, highs, lows, and mids are all there!! Go to the nuforce site and look for the Estore there 40 bucks there. Ultimate ears is also good, the S4 is a good choice i use that also. Nuforce is the best price for the quality.
-
Is Nuforce superior to S4 in terms of audio quality?? Or is it just better value??

The Sony MDR-XB500 goes for about $50. I'd say that should be your first port of call. If you want big bass, it's time for a headphone and 'full sized' drivers.
-
For that, any $50 pair of phones will do. Anything more will be a waste of money. And anything less, are no better than some string and two tin cans.
For the record, quality drives (headphone or speakers) give you the subtle nuances that are present in only the best recorded music. -
The Koss PortaPro headphones are also pretty good. They're cheap too.
-
The only problem with the PortaPros are that they are open which means you an hear everything around you.
-
As an alternative to the PortaPros, you may also want to try and find a nice pair of vintage over-the-ear headphones. You'd likely have to get an adapter to convert the old style plug to the newer 3.5mm, but you'd have some pretty good noise isolation and not too many people would hear what you are listening to either. I just recently got a set of Realistic Nova 10 headphones and they are the best I've ever had.

I have the ATH-M50s .. they are really good headphones, however they are $160 USD - a bit over his budget.
-
I just picked up a set of Marley Smile Jamaica earbuds and for the $25 that I paid for them, they sound pretty good. A fair amount of bass response, nice highs and mids, and a 52" cord as well. I don't know how much they run in stores like Best Buy as I bought them through AAFES.

I had both the ATH-M50's and the SRH840's in my hands at the same time. I picked the ATH-M50's. The SRH840's just didn't sound right to me.
-
-
The SRH840's sounded as though they were too laid back. which is odd because I usually prefer my sound signatures more relaxed and laid back. Even my friends that tried them said they liked the ATH-M50's. Mind you they were all new, I did put a few hours on each pair before making my decision but it wasn't any 100 hours. Normally I don't think burn-in requires more than just a few hours but maybe the SRH840's are one of the few exceptions.
-
Laid back?
-
Laid-back - Recessed, distant-sounding, having exaggerated depth, usually because of a dished midrange. Compare "Forward".
Op take a look at this thread and decide which factor is most important to you and go to the tier within your budget and pick the one you like.

I was asking for his specific interpretation.

Maybe more like... stoned.. I'm no good with words but there wasn't anything that shined about them. In every frequency zone they just didn't have what it took to impress me, and then they didn't physically feel *right* on my head either. I ordered them from a trusted website so I know they weren't fake or anything like that.

Koss PortaPro are the best by far I ever heard at that pricerange for a lightweight, mobile headphone.

Sennheiser HD555
Suggest to me a good pair of head phones
