    Hi,
    I'm new here.
I post to ask if there are someone that know if there are some good HDD box on Amazon. I've found only cheap ones whit "ambiguous" reviews.

    Thanks,

I bought a couple usb 3.0 one`s from Aliexpress like $5 each, Very nice cases and fast, Only problem the activity led on the side is so bright, it puts a spot 3ft wide on the wall 20 feet away, I had to cover it with a black sticker before it drove me insane with the flashing.

Honestly, they are all about the same. And it doesn't really matter that much if one fails; because they are so cheap, it's easy to replace.

If you want some name-brands, look into the Amazon Basics version, or anything made by Vantec.

I've found that the thing that sets these enclosures apart is the controller used for the interface. I bought a couple of Raidsonic Icybox units that turned out to be pretty much useless - didn't report SMART data and the connection would die after about 5 minutes, after which I'd have to remove the cable and plug it in again.

I replaced them with two of these, using HGST 7K1000 drives, and I'm really happy with the performance. They're stable, quick and easy to install.

Thanks, for all the replies and sorry for the late reply.

I've finally got a ugreen, popular on amazon.it.
Seems ok so far and SMART works fine.

    Thanks again :)
