That depends heavily on your budget - I know of many very nice messenger bags that I have always wanted, but many are close to $100.

Personally, I am not willing to spend so much on a case, so the messenger bag that I am using is a $10.00 (after rebate) Samsonite bag. It's comfortable, has plenty of pockets, and has plenty of protection along with my Zeroshock.

IMO, $100 is worth it for a bag. These these will last forever, and they only look better with age.

Not for me my dear. (if that avatar represents your gender?)

I commute much more than I drive, so my bag take a lot of abuse. The best I can hope for is a years use. I could get one that hold up longer than that, but it would end up pretty tattered by the end of that time. Fortunately, at around $60, the Case Logic is about as good as my bags needs to get. It's a very sleek messenger bag, and holds my HDX 18 and all it's ancillary components. It's not perfect mind you (the shoulder strap connections to the bag need to pivot, instead they are fixed) but for the price it's a good deal.

Best Buy had a pretty limited selection of bags when I went to get my laptop, but I ended up going with the Targus TCG200. It's actually made for 17" laptops and mine is 15.4", but it actually works pretty well. Gives it a little extra sliding room that isn't overkill. It's actually helpful. And there is enough depth to fit a nice portable cooler in there, or even a Zalmar NC2000 if you put it in the right way. Might be a little tight, but it looks possible. It has a good amount of padding on the inside along with a nice amount of pockets for cords and other things. There's apparently another version out there with a nice little case on the side for a mouse. Might be a little large for your laptop, but this is just my experience with bags. :)

I'd rather not get one of those Targus bags myself. It just scream "Hey, there is a LAPTOP in here." I got something a bit more old fashion and that isn't all black.

    My two cents.
