My HP PSC 2355v printer just recently crapped out...just in time for me to go back to graduate school.

So I'm in the market for a new all-in-one (print, scan, copy) printer. I don't know much about printers, and am sifting through all of the options now. Just thought I'd ask the community to see if any of you have printers that you are satisfied with.

I won't be doing much more than printing papers with the occasional picture included. I don't need "real-life" quality printings of photos or anything like that. I do want to find something with cheaper ink if possible though. The HP ink I've been buying for the the PSC has been something in the $30-$40 range per cartridge, and that just seems like too much. I've looked at the HP C4680 as a possible replacement, but I'm turned off by the cost of the ink. I don't have a particular brand loyalty, as long as ink will be available at most stores.

Any printers out there you'd recommend?

    Here you go dude.

Canon PIXMA MX320 Office All-In-One Printer - Apple Store (Canada)

Me/ my girlfriend both have this printer from our Mac days. its an all in one, is cheap to refill, lasts for ever and is only 99 bucks... But be warned, walmarts photocenters don't refill the cartrages.

The reviews are basically bad because there a bunch of people who didnt know how to use a free printer with their mac... Trust me, for the price your good to go. (Yes it comes with Ink).

How expensive or inexpensive were you looking? I know the NBR sister site Printer Reviews ? Laser Printer Reviews, Wireless and Inkjet Printer Reviews has a bunch of back to school recommendations, but a lot of those go up to $300. I should mention for the record that their #3 recommendation, the Lexmark Pinnacle, is on sale at Newegg for another week at $100 off, making it about $200... and this model comes with the 105XL black ink cartridge... at $5 for around 500 pages. This is a pretty new model, though, so there aren't any long term reviews yet, I don't think.

Thanks Judicator. Didn't realize NBR had that sister site. Very interesting. I was looking for one in the $70-$120 range. I found one yesterday on sale for $100 -- HP Photosmart Plus.

Breaking Brian, I wasn't ignoring your advice, but as I researched I found that I wouldn't be able to buy the Canon ink at the stores around here, and I don't want to have to order ink online. The HP Photosmart Plus has ink readily available at some stores close to my house. It also seemed to be cheaper ink. I'll see how it goes with this one. If anyone has the printer, feel free to comment.

    I appreciate the help guys.
