Hi, I am not sure if you have heard of a shoutcast show called Patrolling, but it's interesting and teaches a lot about gadgets.

When it comes to bags, laptop bags are not really that great because they are designed for the laptop and don't leave room for other things. There are much better, and even cheaper, but tactical bags on sale. I know one in Vancouver. It's a store called Dave's Surplus and Tactical and it sells mostly all tactical gears. Here is the link: http://www.davesarmysurplus.com/

Be warned that I have never purchased anything there so the quality is still up to debate. I will give it a try when I go to Vancouver next time :)

Bleh if you are desperate to spend money perhaps. I still find that the good ole brown paper bag does the trick for my laptop AND it still has room for perhipials ;)

I'm not sure a paper bag will quite hold up. I use a binder. Those file-ing kinds, with the zipper/flap, depending on which kind you get. =D

Well.... I was saying that I plan to use it for everything (textbooks, etc) and not just the laptop. That's the whole point actaully. I dislike current laptop bags because they leave very little room for other things; whereas the army surplus bags have equal if not better durability and more room for other things like a textpad with graph paper, food, etc.

I found a great backpack at eBags that fits my 17" laptop, books, iPod, cell phone, and a ton of other stuff. Plus, when I'm not toting my laptop around, it's my work bag - carries my lunch, workout clothes, etc.

my chrome metropolis has fit my inspiron 6000, which is the same size as the e1505 and is not small by any means. Then an accordian style folder for papers, a legal pad, 2 100 page spirals, a packing cube full of a small notebook, an mp3 player, deck of cards, leatherman, and some linux live cds, a nalgene, a thermos, my ac adapter, and 3 paperbacks. I still had room for my umbrella when it stopped raining and my jacket. BUT it was a bit heavy at that point and i doubt that a second strap would've helped my long walk with such a heavy bag.
