Hi, I bought a Toshiba Satellite A660, and quite a long time ago I bought a Logitech X-530 Surround sound system for my junk PC, but found that the sound card did not support it, so I packed away the X530.

I am looking at purchasing an external sound card to support the speaker system, but I am unsure as to what I'll need. There are 5 speakers, and a subwoofer, but from the Front-Right speaker, there are only 3 male connectors that send the signal to the computer. Wondering what kind of sound card I will need. Thanks.

How much are you looking to spend? It does not really sound like you are looking for the best sound quality so the cheapest card that comes to mind is the creative usb 5.1 surround sound card.

It doesn't really matter in terms of money. As little as possible would be preferable, obviously, but I'm prepared to spend over 100$ if I have to. I was looking at the Sabrent USB-SND8 8-Channel Sound Box but I'm not sure if it would be compatible with my set-up. If I have 3 outputs (black, orange, and green) on my 5.1 surround sound, what does that mean, exactly?

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Sound card.
    I second that choice...
