Does anyone have this Swiss Gear pack ? If so, do you like it? Is it sturdy?

I've seen the review of the Swiss Gear Synergy here and it looks great. I'm wondering how the Austin model compares. I just bought a XPS 1537 from Dell's outlet and I'm looking to get a backpack for it. I'm a student so the pack needs to be big enough to schlep around the xps, binder and books. I'd also like it to be sturdy and comfortable. I'm wondering how it stands up to regular use, so if anyone has had either model for a while, an update as to how it wears over time would be wonderful.

    Thanks for your help!

For me, hands down I would purchase the Synergy. I have it for my XPS 1530. It' awesome..sturdy, durable, functional, comfy, and roomy :D

Looking at the Austin..it doesn't really do anything for me. It's a Swiss Gear..which makes it a good backpack! :D

I have pictures at home of my Synergy, I can load up later if you wish ~ just let me know!

And, I think you can get a better deal on the Synergy..also.
(I think there is a 25% off coupon for accessories at Dell right now) ;)

Thanks! That would be great. I looked at the coupon section here and didn't see one for accessories. I'll shop around and see if I can find a synergy cheaper somewhere else (I'm sure I can). I think the Austin is a dell only bag, but it looks a bit more flimsy to me, so I'm glad there's a forum like this to ask about it.

Here is the coupon code for 25%...I'm assuming it will work:

I can help you find a deal on a Synergy too, if you'd like. Do you have access to Dell's EPP (Employer Purchase Program)? It could also make the purchase a bit cheaper!

I will post the pics' this evening when I get home...

    Welcome to forum, BTW :D

Thanks! I don't have access to dell's EPP. I do have access to the student discount, but I don't think it works with the accessories.

If you have a student discount..you should be able to access Dell EPP. ;)

And, you can use that discount on accessories.
Here is the EPP site: You will need your assigned ID to access ;)

Yup as long as your a student, or your employer participates..you should be able to access.

The coupon code, you might not be able to to use that at EPP..but it doesn't hurt to check ;) If you really want that 25% on the Swiss Gear, you might have to dial a EPP Rep, and have them manually give you the discount! :D

    A huge lifesaver! ;)
