I went down to bestbuy today to check out how my brand new 15.4 inch T61 would fit inside one of those nice Swissgear backpacks and lo and behold, it was way to tight for comfort. After, with some difficulty, I got the notebook inside the sleeve and I was about to try to zip it I noticed it would get close to getting caught on the notebook, so I just thought "screw it".

I think it's really stupid now they have it labeled 15.4 yet it is way to tight for one, damn false advertising  . It looks like the 14.1 T61 would fit snug so they should of labeled it for that size. I don't believe my T61 is big for a 15.4 since it did fit in a Targus backpack right next to the Swiss ones.

I'm kinda paranoid now about buying backpacks online, not to mention I'm stuck on what brand to buy. I would like something with good padding on the straps and doesn't scream "I'm a notebook backpack!". Also a dark color that doesn't stand out with a decent amount of room.

I also don't know about Targus, they seem a bit on the cheap side for my tastes but I haven't seem to many models.

Use eBags.com to check out backpacks. They list the actual dimensions of the laptop pocket and have a brief list of notebooks that will fit. Very helpful.

    Ok, thanks for the info.

What would be a good brand for around 50-60 dollars and with good shoulder padding?
