I just bought a new flash drive (Kingston DataTraveler Elite) and unfortunately it doesn't work! Though, I bought this flash drive because I had similar problems with my old Flash drive. I assumed the Flash Drive caused the problems.

I am using Windows XP Pro SP2 and as soon as I've plugged in my drive, the notebook recognized it and reboots immediately.

Also I tried to get it working when plugging it in prior to starting up my notebook, without any luck. As soon as Windows is fully started up it reboots again.

I am desperately looking for a solution but have no clue what exactly causes it. Besides, I tried several flash drives on several computers...

Probably it's a problem caused by software, does anyone know what to do?

    Thanks in advance!

What was the exact problem and how did you fix it? Just so I know in advance if I have the same problems one day.

Well.. everytime I plugged in my Flash Drive my system instantly rebooted. Even when I plugged it in prior to starting it up.

What you have to do is to go to the ''system tab'' --> hardware --> (control device?) and then you have to remove all USB hubs and controlls.

As soon as you reboot it should be working again.
