I was wondering if anyone has one bags ( http://www.reloadbags.com) of these and how they liked them. I will be getting a laptop soon (Thinkpad T60) would like to keep all my books and everything in a single bag. These bags look like they can hold a lot of stuff I just was curious if anyone that has one could tell me about their durability and how much stuff they can put in it in the pictures it seems like a lot. Also most importantly with a laptop and cables etc along with books this thing could be around 10lbs and I was wondering how comfortable it would be because that's a lot of weight on one shoulder and I really don't like backpacks.
Also any suggestion for my situation or a bag for the laptop (I am getting a 14" T60) would be greatly appreciated.

reload makes some of the best messenger bags around. as a former bike messenger i can tell you these bags are built extremely tough and designed to be comfortable even under heavy load. that being said, most messenger bags are designed for people who ride bikes. the way they are supposed to be worn is tight and high on your back - almost to your neck- which speads the load evenly across your back and shoulders when you are bent over the handlebars. if you aren't planning on riding a bike with your messenger bag you may find that a tradition backback is more comfortable.
i carry my 14" thinkpad t42p in a tom bihn brain cell. size 4 fits perfectly with a 6 cell battery but you'll need the larger size if you are using the 9 cell. love this bag to death. i carry it in my pac designs messenger bag when i'm riding and a regular jansport backpack when i'm not. -
thanks for your help stkim. Although I don't think I could ever go back to a traditional backpack I'm going to keep looking. I've never actually worn a 'real' messenger bag before just wanted to check it out. Just to reinterate...you're saying that walking around with a messenger bag (something like from reload bags) would be uncomfortable walking around campus with?

no i think you'll be fine. just make sure you get the padded shoulder pad. i'm not sure if they come stock. just to be clear, reload bags are regarded by bike messengers as one of the best bags around. they take a lot of abuse and are very well made. the courier and deluxe courier model hold an insane amount of stuff. you'd probably be better off getting a smaller or medium sized bag like the civilian or the small civilian because the courier bags are seriously huge! you could probably fit a whole bankers box in it full of files and still have room to spare. i love reload bags.
are you getting a sleeve for your t60? i would recommend one in addition to the reload bag. -
I figured if I would was really considering getting one and shelling out that kind of dough I would also just get the sleeve that they make that goes with the bag the Philly sleeve..I like it because they will actually custom make it to the dimensions of the laptop which is nice unless you have a better suggestions. Thanks again for the replies.
