    Hi all,

I'm a soon to be college student who doesn't care to lug a tv into his very small dorm. What TV Tuner options are available for laptops, hopefully in the $100 range that can pick up analog on cable and analog, digital, and HD stations over the air? An FM tuner is a plus.

    Thanks! :)

There are others of course but then you'd have to research their linux support.

I think the HP ExpressCard/54 Digital/Analog TV Tuner for Windows Vista, "Hauppauge HVR-1500" use the same CX23885 PCI Express Video and Broadcast Audio Decoder as the Avermedia AVerTV Hybrid Express (A577).

I wonder if I could use AverMedia's latest Software Interface "AVerTV 6" just like I use WinTV6? :D
... and it would work completely under XP.

Note to Linux Users. I think Michael Krufky has finally got the CX23885 based TV Cards working some kind of way using a patched v4l-dvb tree. He was able to get even his HVR-1800 up and working and says it should work for others.

Just do a search on cx23885 at the website below, figure out how to do it, then tell me.
