I've got a Sony Vaio Z690 and a Sony Bravia XBR5 tv that I want to use as a second monitor via HDMI. When I go in to my Display settings and choose Monitor 2 I can only see my wallpaper unless I click "This is my main monitor" in which case I can navigate around on my TV with a mouse but I can't go to my computer and type anything. When I check "Extend the desktop on to this monitor" the Apply button is greyed out. What am I doing wrong?

If you are on win 7 you should have 4 options - Extend, 1 only, 2 only and duplicate. Do you have the NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS / Intel GMA 4500 switchable graphics? If so which one are you using?
Also you may need to upgrade your graphic driver(s)
