I am looking for a tablet that i can take to school and work and keep notes on. I need it to be able to recognize handwriting and be able to store the information until i can hook it up to my computer, or be able to transfer the information to a flash drive. Can anyone make a suggestion or guidance on where to look?

For the handwrite recognition, I think you need to use MS Word or other programs. As for the hardware itself, you better go with Wacom tables, they seems to be the most cost effective one's.

Check NBR's sister site, http://www.tabletpcreview.com, tons of info there

You might want to look at a digital notepad as well. I've never used one but it might be a cheaper and more convenient alternative as well. Something like this:

Essentially the idea is that you just take notes, etc. on a piece of paper in the notepad, which it stores for later uploading to a PC (I believe it can apply handwriting recognition, etc. as well to convert your notes to text). -

I don't know if your looking for a USB tablet or a tabletpc. You want something that hooks up to your computer, but to my knowledge usb tablets don't store info yet. Be sure to check out Cori's link if you seak the latter. But if a USB tablet is more your style, they are cheaper, a little more sensative, and they will hook up to your comupter. They however won't store anything on bored. I will recommend wacom over any other brand, and let me say... the larger the tablet you need the more expensive it is.
