My brother got two off ebay for 25 bucks...i seem to be reading mixed reviews; i get the consensus that they are easy to break. But they also have a 1 year warranty. If one of these lasts me one year i think its worth the money.

My question is, are they good 'enough' chill mats? Obviously on the cheap end, but how well do they work?

Basic answer no. If you look in my coolers buyers guide is is the only cooler I do not reccomend since it has very poor performance, most people notice better changes using it as a stand if they dont see rises. If you look through the buyers guide older targus chill mats (i believe a generation before the current) had cancer warnings etc slapped on the back of it. There is a link to a forum that discuss it on the buyers guide.

Ive heard that the Zalman NC2000 is a very good notebook cooler, i would look into it. As, i wouldnt buy the one you are looking at.
