Wow this thing stinks on any surface other than a desktop. I think it has to do with placement of the laser, which is at the front of the mouse. The accuracy is horrible. I couldn't find a single review but I figured 1200dpi and nano receiver would be good. I was wrong.
Does anybody have experience with the Rocketfish Laser notebook mouse?

Since you used "that wasn't" instead of "who wasn't", I'm assuming this was over an IM service or some other form of electronic communication.
Stay away. It's a trap! -

saw that but the purchase isnt even for me. since the targus will be getting returned to bestbuy, it will be replaced by a rocketfish laser notebook mouse. also has a micro receiver.. i'll give it a try.
the targus was such a poor performer on my couch, just terrible. so bad i've been using the touchpad, which i hate. my bluetooth microsoft notebook 5000 so accurate, and this blows. -
If you have Bluetooth, check out the Razer Orochi. It's a tad pricey, but it is the most comfortable mobile mouse I've ever used. They managed to get 7 buttons on that thing, and they don't feel cramped at all, and more importantly, neither do my fingers.
It's a 4,000 DPI laser sensor in wired mode, although with Bluetooth it can only do 2,000, which is still quite respectable. My girlfriend's Orochi tracks just fine on her leather couch arm. Perhaps you might like it. ^_^ -
Then what's a good mouse, I'm in the market for one? My present one is from Logitech and it's ok, but I borrowed it from the one I use with the keyboard and it has the bulky cord from the bulky transmitter with it.
Targus Comfort laser mouse sucks
