Hello there I am having some technical problems with a peripheral and I am wondering if I can get some help.

First of all I am running an Alienware m11r3 with Win 78 x64.

I have been trying to install a pair of brand new Jaybird Bluebuds x with this computer and for some reason it doesn't really want to work.

This is what I am getting:

When i install the thing it pairs up fine and the computer finds the headset it then starts to automativally install drivers and it successfully install s the following
    Bluetooth Remote Control
    Bluetooth Hands-free
    Bluetooth Headset
    Bluetooth AV

Then there is a final driver that just doesn't want to install and that is a line that says
    Bluetooth Peripherals

Anyone have any idea what that last bit is and what driver to use for it?
    Thanks in advance
    /
    Stormifer.

Howdy Newbie. You may want to have posted this in the Alienware or Windows forums to get a better response...but that's besides the point.

First off, are you Windows 7 or 8? You list it as 78 which is a bit confusing.

    But you can try this:

    1. Open control panels

    2. Open device manager

    3. Under Other Devices, you should see the problematic bluetooth peripheral device(s).

    4. Select it, right-click, and select update driver.

    5. The dialogue box will appear, select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

    6. Scroll down to Ports (COM & LPT).

    7. Under Mfgr, select Microsoft.

    8. Select the Standard Serial over Bluetooth link.

    9. Repeat as necessary for additional Peripheral Devices.

Try that and see if it free's up the driver error.

Well I figured this was were to post since it was concerninga peripheral but thanks for the suggestion. :)
To clarify I am running Win7.

Also your solution didn't work at all, well it did remove my computers worries about an unidentified hardware but the hardware doesn't work. It actually made things worse since now the headset refuses to even show up amongst the bluetooth devices anymore.
I am at a loss here been trying a lot of solutions that aren't working at all.
gonna try and updatea a lot of drivers and see what happens.

Try uninstalling the Bluetooth device and drivers, then downloading the stock Bluetooth drivers for your R3 and reinstalling.

Tried that too but I am getting the same result. It worked for a quickie but then the sound suddenly sounded like it came out of a can.
Been installing and reinstalling all manner of ways but it seems to not want to work.

Ahhh. Now I get it. After the initial installation and pairing with your bluetooth stereo headset, the sound coming out of the headset will work fine right? But then if you disconnect/turn off the headset and then turn it back on later, the sound goes all low quality and weird, yes?

    Yes and no.
For some reason when I pair and start it up now no matter what I do I get a very bad sound quality.
The first time I paired it up after reinstallign the general bluetooth driver and then doing the things you said to get that last driver right I had great sound until I went into the sound device settings to see what level the mic was at. As soon as I switched to the recording devices tab it went all weird on me.
Either way I am gonna keep trying to get this working. I apprechiate all the help as it comes along and thanks in advance for any further replies.

I hope it will sort itself out sooner or later. :)

Just for reference, are you running the Dell Bluetooth adapter, or are you using a Killer Wireless or Intel Wifi/Bluetooth combo card?

One thing to try: Connect/turn on your headset. Go into the Playback tab of your sounds control panel. Select your R3's built-in speakers and click the Set Default button at the bottom. Then disconnect/turn off your Headset and close out the control panel. Now power it back on and let it connect. Reopen your Sound control panel and the playback tab. The default sound device should still be set to the built in speakers (which is good). If it's set on the bluetooth headset still, repeat the above steps. If the default device is on the built in speakers, then select your bluetooth headset and click set default. See if that makes the audio play properly.

Apologies for posting in such an old thread but what radji described is similar if not exactly the same problem I have been having with my Jaybird Bluebuds X for months and I still have not been able to solve the problem. The headphones always fail installing the Bluetooth Peripherals as Stormifer mentioned and so the device shows up with the yellow triangle over it. If I reset or shut off the headphones the sound quality becomes distorted unless I either restart the computer or disconnect them through my computer.

I am running Windows 7 Pro on a M6600 Dell Precision. I have another bluetooth headset that connects fine with no issues.

The issue is how Windows reconnects the headphones when they are turned on again.

When you install it, then the yellow triangle shows up, go into the Playback tab of your sound control panel. Does you Jays show up there and are the selected as the default Playback device. If they are the default device, then set another device as the default playback device, then disconnect and reconnect the Jays. See if the bluetooth stack reloads and reinstalls the peripherals and services then.
