Very nice concept. But I don't think it will last long. M$ and the other game OEMs will sue sue sue!

Simular in some ways to the Nvidia Shield. Btw, they are working on a version II.

But this has emulation, which they will have to license or get sued. Some can't be licensed...

This also uses plug in cartriges for some hardware. This is clunky. There is no mention how they send controller information. So I assume that is what is in the cartriges, i.e. makes it a wireless controller.

It is a 45 kick starter, and they only have 86 backers so far. This is too far from thier goal, so I doubt it will be funded.

The concept would be amazing, a cross platform device that would allow remote play for any of your systems. The hard part for this company will be for them to get permission from each of the platforms to allow them to access the systems. Even if the company gets this operational, I am not sure that microsoft, sony, or nintendo will allow for this device to be utilized with their systems. Like Ajnindlo has stated they are really far from their goal, and they will have licensing issues. Though the concept is amazing in itself, I do not see it going anywhere.

For game streaming from another PC, check out SteamOS. Presumably it will run on a soon to be announced SteamBox...

Hare-brained to the max IMO. The thing is basically tethered - what good is a portable device if you can't take it beyond the confines of your house? One of those 'cool ideas until you actually use it' things.

Now, a Shield with a GRID rackmount host (or obviously you can sign up for a hosted service, but that's not my style) that I can plunk in one of my datacenters and get good enough compression to use practically playably on an LTE link... now we might be talking.

That thing looks like it would cause some serious thumb pain. Looks like a giant PSP (not in a good way).
