    Hey Everyone,

Seems some people wanted a review of this backpack, so here goes.
It is a quick review, not totally detailed.
If you have additional requests for photos I can take them for you.
It is one big image, wait for it to load!

    Enjoy! Comments welcome!

    Great review!

Very attractive as well. I think I know my next backpack when this one wears out :D

Hmm... I do apologize in advance that my review is one large image.
I tried to reduce the quality as much as I could to reduce the file size.

I believe my uploaded photo is still functional though and did not max out any bandwidth.

Thanks for the comments thus far!

Still can't see the review, maybe using thumbnails to reupload your image might work.

    Thanks for the review.

I am interested in getting the On Sight, since the Surge isn't big enough for a 17 inches.

The best deals I have found so far are (from the same vendor):

    - previous style is on sale for $83.37 (sold out)
    - latest style for $138.95

Anyone knows if any significant differences between the previous & the latest style? Thanks.

*The vendor's site got a pretty good peer review (by jon3404490) on this backpack: link
    ---------------------

    @lootbag,

The external review in the above, mentions a couple minuses, which probably are referring to the previous style.

    Taken from that peer review:
    - the water bottle holder is poorly designed
    - no external attachment points
    - the little pocket at the bottom has a small opening

Do they apply to yours (which I believe yours is a revision)?

Looks a little tall. Does it fit under airplane seats?

How's the belt? I have a fantastic hiking backpack from North Face circa 1990ish but the hip belts on their smaller backpacks look kind of flimsy and uncomfortable. The hip belt matters to me because my back's not great and I tend to stuff tech books into my bags along with the ridiculous 10 lb. laptop I use. Yes, yes, I've heard of these 'e-books' you speak of but back in my day we read stuff on the same material that we wiped ourselves with and we liked it!

I have no idea if this bag is fit for carry-on duties as I myself have never taken this bag on an airplane.

I have yet to use the waist straps, it is not heavily padded or padded much at all. I assume it would get the job done... but probably not as good as a hiking pack from North Face.

    Your welcome!

In case anyone is interested, there is a vendor selling this backpack (2010 model) at sale price, for $98.95 w/ free shipping.

(I have been hunting for deal on this backpack since Black Friday, and most other vendors are selling at ~$140).

Not sure if I could post the link to the vendor on this forum, so I am not doing so. Just do a Google search, shouldn't be hard to find it.

I am not sure how good that vendor is (it doesn't have good rating at resellerratings.com), but it is listed on Amazon.com.

I placed my order on Saturday (12/18), and from UPS tracking, my order should arrive on Wednesday (12/22).

    Hope this helps.

I guess I just post the link to the vendor then: link

They have been selling it at that price on & off. Again, I am not too sure about the reputation of this vendor, so you might want to do some research yourself before placing your order.

For my order, as mentioned, I placed it on Saturday, they processed it the same day, and my order has arrived today. (Currently I am in oversea, so have to check with my family, to see if my order is OK.)

Does anyone know where I can find this model backpack now today? I have looked all over online for stores that might sell it, and on eBay and even craigslist. Any ideas where I could get one I really want one. I just want a "North Face" backpack that can fit my ASUS g73JH. If not are there any other North Face models that can fit the ASUS G73JH? So sad I cannot find this backpack available anywhere.
