Hello everyone, I have a dv6000t laptop with Bluetooth, probably the newer version.
I am interested in purchasing some stereo headphones/headset to use with my laptop for gaming and music listening.
Right now I am looking at the Motorola HT-820 Bluetooth Stereo Headphones
such as http://cgi.ebay.com/MOTOROLA-HT-820...107765661QQcategoryZ20354QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I decided to inquire with the very knowledgeable users on this forum because reviews of the HT-820 have stated the headset is abit heavy and sometimes has trouble connecting. It is also Bluetooth 1.1, but I don't know what to make of that.
I just want some headphones that are:
1) Be stereo bluetooth headphones (stereo just means covers both ears)
2) Be comfortable to wear for hours at a time
3) Be fast enough to support very fast-paced games
4) Rechargeable, reliable (don't snap in half)
5) Under 70 dollars after final purchase (ebay is usually 2/3 of the price, so 100 retail headphones would be around 60, so that is in my budget!)
*) Optional but useful: Buttons on the headphones to control music or volume
*) Optional but NOT necessary: Microphone
It would be fantastic if anyone could point me to some alternatives!

I am also looking for the same thing and I also ordered a 6000t. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.

I would seriously recommend the Logitech Free Pulse Wireless Headphones. They are Bluetooth 2.0 and I've had no problems with them whether using the little dongle thing or using them with a Bluetooth compatible computer. There have been a lot of complaints about how uncomfortable they are, but I've found them fine to wear for long periods of time. I guess it just depends on how you're head and ears are shaped.
EDIT: Ah, after reading the first post more carefully I see you want something under 70 dollars. I can't help you there as these are closer to 100 depending where you look. Also, I've never tried them gaming so I don't know how they would stand up to that, I also just use them listening to music. -
Thanks for your input mbfield.

Most of the bluetooth headsets seem big and huge. Anyone know if there are earbud type of bluetooth headsets?

Dell Canada has had those go on sale for CAD $50 twice, maybe more. -
Consider the Creative CB2530 Bluetooth headphones.

I am also wondering the same exact thing as you Dest. Once I get my notebook the first thing im gonna get is a USB mouse, which are pretty cheap ~$10. However next thing I want is a good BT headset with exact same specifications as you have, with the stereo-type, and what not.
edit: I read the thread that you have linked at the top with the review for these headphones. Seems like there are some technical issues regarding the headphones even though I don't understand what their talking about with that A2DP stuff and the upstream and downstream. Seems like these BT headphones are going to have trouble with the nature of the the technology being new and advancing. -
1. you can check howardforums.com as there is a bluetooth headset forum that is full of info
2. Check out the Lubix NC1's - BT stereo earbuds. I have these and they are great. They are light, small, when you don't want them in your ears, the earbuds magnetically snap together around your neck, pendant-like. They do have AVRCP controls on the left earbud for volume and track advance/reverse. They do have built i EQ, but some profiles sound bad. There is a guy on Ebay - sohocrates that sells these pretty reliably Lubix
BTW- be aware that these earbuds aren't the best at reproducing deep bass - IF you really want a fuller range of sound you may need to sacrifice size and go with the bigger "can" type earphones. -
Guys your thoughts on this http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=203033500&adid=17662
Thanks. -
The 1.1 is merely the standard of Bluetooth version being used. The new standard is 2.0 (basically faster speeds and less use of power on the device). Any add-ons you're getting for a cell phone or laptop has to be compatible with your device. Most 2.0 accessories can be backwards compatible to 1.1. However, you have to look at the specs to make sure.
As for A2DP, I believe it's another standard geared more for stereo audio experiences. Ultimately, your computer and/or BT dongle and headset have to both support it; otherwise, it's just won't work.
On a side note, remember that you can probably use a stereo BT headphones with a newer mp3-capable cell phone (especially those headphones with a built-in microphone). So, the money you'd invest in getting a seperate headset for your phone could go into a more expensive and quality stereo BT headphone. -

Thanks will pass it up then.

Does anyone know, whether a build-in-mic will work with skype/messenger on a regular BT-notebook?

If you link the headphones under the headset profile on your notebook it should work fine.
