Yes the Roccat Kave has been released, a pair of cool looking headphones from the company Roccat, makers of the award winning Roccat Kone mouse.
I found many reviews online that gave it high marks. Here is one of them:

I'm always lurking
I'm heading out of work right now so I'll read the review when I get home. Looked at some of the pics though.. very impressed. The padding looks really comfy and the pocket on the headband seem like they'd stay cool. Microphone has a nice design too.
Me gusta.
Edit: Alright checked it out now. Definitely liked the review but there is one thing that would keep me from buying them... I don't want to go back to having multiple cables to plug in. That's the main thing I didn't like about using the Barracudas because I had to use the Creative expresscard adapter with them. I'd consider them once I get my desktop up and running though. -

Never even heard of Roccat before though......... -

A lot of gamers haven't heard of them because they sell their products in the UK/Europe only however, you can get their products shipped here from one of the many UK stores.

So would you not recommend these for a Laptop gamer? Only reason I am saying this is because I like these better than any other Headphones currently on the market and they are cheaper than the A40s. But I have a laptop and I wonder if they would even be compatible with my laptop.
-
Your soundcard needs to support 5.1 so should have 3 ports on the laptop for hookups, i'd imagine if like raziel you have a express soundcard it could be a bit of a hassle as you are going to have wires trailing all over (5.1 adaptor come into play here as well?), while on my HDX the hookups are at the back of the laptop so anit to bad.
-
Yeah, I used these for my setup. The last pic shows you how long the cable for the 5.1 adapter was :/

how do all these "gamers" headsets compare to big names like sennheiser/shure/denon/i-suck-at-english/etc that are priced similarly anyways?
please don't tell me about having a mic attached is one, attachments are easily found on the internet. -
It's all a matter of opinion. I like the gamer headsets because I find them to be more immersive when I'm playing or watching a movie.
Others don't like surround headsets and insist on stereo headphones for better audio quality on two channels. Best thing to do is read reviews, take everything with a grain of salt, and take advantage of those 30-day return policies so you can see what works best for you. -
Well the postman brought me a present today, really shouldn't of bought them as im skint but couldn't resist lol
Only been using them a few hours so far and find them quite comfy to wear, and the sound is excellent.
Using a stereo input, basically a music MP3 they sound good, i can get the volume up to a point were its unbearable for me and they still hold their clarity and bass well.
Using 5.1 they come alive, it works perticularly well in COD4 and left for dead were you get a real sense of immersion more so in COD4 with the helicopters and planes overhead.
Build quality is good and for £75 you expect it to be, the outer part of the cans is coated in a thick hard plastic that gives the impression they can take quite a beating, plus the wires are nice and thick.
The handset that comes with it is also made out the same super thick plastic and actually weighs quite a bit, plus it has rubber feet to stop it from moving.
So far the only niggles ive found is the cable from the handset to the headset could do with to be a little bit longer, its long enough for needs but could do with to be about another 30cm long.
The adjustable vibration function thats advertised also seems to be linked directly to the subwoofer, and works between 20-100hz, this means when using stereo input it doesn't seem to work (holding judgement at the moment). When using 5.1 it does its job perfectly and you do get that cinema feeling.
Not tested the mic yet as i really can't stand the sound of hearing my actual true voice instead of the one in my head (yes i know..).
Hoping to pick up a Creative X-fi card at the end of the month so hopefully they really will come alive.
If anyone wants anymore pictures our any more info let us know. -
HELLO Jasp
I HAVE QUESTION: I INTEND TO GET THE SAME HEADSET roccat kave for my laptop its alienware m17x old shape but i want to know if the surround sound will work or not?? my sound card support the surround sound but it has just 3 jakes one for the mic and one for the headset and one i think for the line out
thanks alot -
It will only work stereo. If you want surround, which is what the Kave is for, either get an external sound card or look for a USB headset.
