Hi!
This thread is more dedicated to those who know a bit of racing gaming![]()
well, i would like to know which wheel you consider to be better:
LOGITECH NASCAR RACING WHEEL (FORCE FEEDBACK) = 50
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/p...,categoryid=411
the last in the list
SAITEK R220= 60
http://www.saitekusa.com/usa/prod/r220.htm
NGS DIABLO WITH VIBRATION (COMES WITH PEDALS + GEAR CHANGE)= 45

I like my wheel...

I have the Logitech PS2 wheel and it's really quite good. Problem is finding the right mount for it to give you the right feeling when using it.
I've seen them clipped to tables at the right height for comfort. I personally have a custom-built wheel holder that is unfortunately not available anymore. It holds the wheel and locks the pedals in place. Perhaps something has replaced it since then.
I don't know how much added value the more expensive models will give though. -
edit As for the wheel for gaming, I'd say try them out if you can. Wheels aren't as tricky as mice, but a lot of it is opinion based on (like the other post said) height, position and so on and so forth.
edit edit also check out newegg just to read people's reviews to see about the quality, durability, feel, any software glitches, etc, etc -
I'm guessing GTI as there is only 1 set of doors. I'm looking at GTI's as well as the 3000gt vr4 currently.
-
Yep, it's a GTI. 3000GTs are pigs, and a little too flamboyant for my personal tastes. Plus, when I was bone stock I lined up with a VR4 at 3 consecutive lights, each time I stayed in front until around 65 MPH when they had a slight edge. Nowadays it would be no contest -
I'm thinking the Diablo would be the best bet.....If money was not an issue, I'd say go for the Logitech G25....It's got a leather wheel, paddle shifters, gas/brake/clutch pedals, and a two function(6speed or sequential shift) stick shft. If money wasn't so tight for me I'd be heading to bestbuy right now to buy one,but at $300, it's too expensive for me.

id love to get my hands on a twin turboed vr6 and squeeze it into a black gti with smoked lights and black rims with silver lips... but new york city and my bank account don't agree.
I have a soft spot in my heart for Nissans though... I used to drive a manual 98 Maxima SE and I have to say, the VQ30DE is a beautiful engine -
Do you have a vr6 or 1.8t? The 3000gt vr4 comes in around 3800 pounds while the gti is about 3000-3200 I think (not sure) Once the turbo spools up on the 3000gt you're toast. Bone stock they have 320 HP while a vr6 has 200 and a 1.8t has 180... Not to mention AWD
It's just hard to find a 3000gt with low enough miles that hasn't been modded.
KidA, have you see the new skyline that's being released at some point? It will be available in the US and is based of the g35 platform. 450+ HP tt AWD =)))))
/off-topic -
There's not a whole lot of weight reduction you can do on that car without breaking the bank. AWD is great... but I was up against a driver who couldn't launch on the street, so if you lose that advantage it becomes just extra weight and extra drivetrain loss. I would say the 1g turbo eclipse and EVOs are the bright spots for an otherwise struggling DSM brand. The 300ZX TT is definitely my pick out of those 90s twin turbo 6-cylinder powerhouses.
My car is 1.8T powered. Weighs 2910 on the scale at the track with 200 pound me in it (stripped out rear, 1/4 tank, no spare or tools). Haven't dyno'd in a while, last time out I put down 200 HP and 291 TQ to the wheels on a dynojet. Mods at the time were GIAC programming, 3" DP, 2.5" CB, dual stage MBCs, 100 octane xylene mix, and some other goodies. Car ran a 13.9 at 101 at Englishtown on that setup.
To contribute to this thread. I LOVE racing games, but I have never been able to find a wheel that actually makes me feel like I'm driving instead of just using another form of controller. I have tried an older logitech wheel I used for NFS 1-3 on my computer, and I tried out my friends newer Logitech wheel hooked up to his PS2 for GT4. The newer PS2 wheel was nice, but the paddle shifters were horribly placed. -
It's called the Nissan GT-R and it's going to be released at the end of 2007 as a 2008 model. Rummor has it that one of the performance models could reach 600HP.
If it's 90's era you want then a 98 eclispe GSX or 99 nissan R-34 would be my choice....I like the 300zxTT but if it's rwd cars I'm choosing from I'd take a 96-98 Supra TT.
Man, I wish I could aford that G25 from logitech....I'm spent ten minutes glued to the computer screen....and I've been thinking about it for weeks now. -
the GTR is going to be hot, and like 60-80k. that aside, it's a twin turbo VQ35DE which means it'll be sick along the lines of the twin turboed 350zs except AWD and so much more awesome.
yeah we all wish we could get our hands on the r34s or an s14 or s15 silvia... i'd take a 350 over the supra only because it handles better and i could probably get a better dealthe supras are still overpriced
man i miss being into cars
edit: while im at it
I WANT A mid-late 90s M5 SOOOOOO BAD. it's the hottest thing with 4 doors, EVER. :end: -
the record for GTR tuning is 1000hp.
-
I Like the 350z but there is so much more you can do with a supra, not to mention the power you can crank out(~1200HP).
mew1838:"the record for GTR tuning is 1000hp."
are you shure?....For some reason I seem to remember seeing a ~1150-1300HP R-34 (live dyno tested) not to long a go on either speedTV or a similar TV channel. I know that 900HP is very common so if 1000 HP is the true record then more than likely a 1000+HP GT-R will emerge sometime in the future.
Back on topic.....I test drove a logitech MOMO racing wheel today at bestbuy....It performed pretty good but it I would have like to have a clutch pedal....and the G25 has a way better stick shifter....but you will pay a large price for such a feature.
