Mice is usually personal preference with feeling. Go to your electronics store ( local) and just try out logitech G series and the Razer series

Keyboards Logitech G15 if your in the lower gaming budget, Razer keyboards have had issues with cutting out suddenly, If you really are willing to spend money go with steal series 7G.

Headset Logitech makes pretty good quality

Razer deathadder or logitech mx518 depending on hand size, your inbuilt keyboard should do fine. For headset, for gaming, if you do amateur/semi-pro online gaming get a Medusa 5.1. Positional audio > pure music sound quality.

There is one problem if you use inbuild keyboard. If your like me ( im stuck with mine for now saving for a steel series) and you can/do stroke 7 keys at a time then your out of luck. The keyboard will jam up on you with gaming. Aswell as comofrt issues. Also response rate is noticible if you are a picky or semi pro gamer

Use your laptop keyboard . If you use an external keyboard you wont be able to play close to the screen and the laptop will be far away. Get a Logitech mouse or an Ideazon.

for keyboards I'm thinking the saitek command unit or the belkin nostromo n52te. those go perfect for a laptop or notebook. It's like a half keyboard with the wasd keys and you don't have to move your hands all over the place. anyone got opinions on this? I tried the saitek command unit but I got small hands so I'm thinking about getting the belkin nostromo n52.

I use the Nostromo n52 (non-te, just missing the blue lights) and I must say it's fantastic for gaming in general, but you really appreciate it on a laptop. It has great travel and feel on all the keys, and is completely customizable, with up to three different control profiles for different games. Absolutely better than ANY laptop keyboard out there, hands down.

Check out the Fang Gamepad from Ideazon.

I use the full keyboard version and love it. I also plan to get the FANG for my laptop when it arrives. I have also used the Notromo and thought it was ok but the Fang/Merc keyboards software is amazing.

    Can't recommend it enough.

Mouse? I personally use a Razer Deathadder.

Headset? I am getting a Razer Piranha. I choosing this because I have been using thier 5.1 set without a hitch for a few months now. Great sounding set so I am hoping this one is of similar quality.

Hey Joebusby, how do you go about hooking up a 5.1 Medusa to your laptop?

I use the Cyborg Command Unit. After I finally figured out how to program it, I absolutely love it.

He probably has the usb edition, like me. Its pretty good, but i don't think its worth $120.

For a keyboard, get the Logitech G15 and for a mouse either the G5 or MX518 or G7 if you want to go for wireless.
