What are the fastest currently available USB memory sticks?

I found that 30/20 MB/s for read/write are the fastest among those available in Germany and the brand name is GeIL (or G.E.I.L) - Gold Series or Titanium USB2.0 Pen Drives.

Do there exist other equally fast or faster USB sticks? Under which brand names and where there are sold?

    Thanks!

    EDIT: The producer site www.geil.com.tw/

Can't go wrong with Kingston, they've been in the memory business for a very long time. Never had a bad RAM module or busted thumbdrive from them.

According to my data it is not that fast: 13/15 MB/s for write/read.

For OCZ Rally I found 17/25 MB/s for w/r. It is on the level of the best ones, though not the best available yet.

My Cruzer Titanium's a bit old -- it was considered fast when I bought it.

The one thing I have to say against Kingston USB drives is they do not fit nicely on a keyring. If you like carrying your drive with your keys, this isn't a good choice. It sticks out at an awkward angle and makes it impossible to fit the keys comfortably in your pocket.

check the Patriot Xporter XT - Anandtech lists read speads up to 39 MBps for the Version 2. and IIRC there are some Corsair Flashvoyager GT drives that are quick.

Looking for a good 4 GB flash drive. Any recs? I need it to move some files from my desktop to my laptop and don't want to shell out the bucks for another external hard drive. Thanks in advance.

I'm a big fan of my OCZ Rally 2 4GB stick. It's very compact and very fast. It's one of the few true dual channel memory sticks available. I know that there are some faster but they are somewhat bulkier IMO.

    Hey,

those who like their USB sticks could make us a favour and post the result of their test with a simple HDTune program. It can measure read/write speads both for internal HDDs and external memory devices (eg usb, cf, sd, etc).

The fastest USB stick I know of is the Buffalo RUF2-R series (32MB/s read). But they don't sell it in the US. (Weird - it's available in Europe and Asia, just not USA.)

    http://buffalo.jp/products/catalog/item/r/ruf2-r/

Buffalo do sell the RUF2-S series in the US which is still fast but not as fast (27MB/s read).

    Other fast sticks are A-Data PD7 200x and PQI U339 170x.

The Corsair Voyager is actually not that fast. I'd say in the teens. Not in the same league as those >25Mb/s. But it's very durable.
