Does the Thinkpad R61 (model 8932) box come with a Vista reinstall disc? All the reviews say to reinstall the OS, so it would help a lot.

Also, do Dell Vista discs work on other PCs? I got one with my Vostro.

The Thinkpad does not come with Vista discs. They have a partition on the harddrive from which you create your own recovery discs.

I don't know about your question on Dell discs.

But the recovery discs won't do what it sounds like you want, which is a clean install without all the Lenovo software.

The nice thing about Vista (at least before SP1, not sure about now) is that a key is a key. You don't have to worry about a retail disc not recognizing an OEM key.
