    Thinnest Notebook Cooler Pad?

    Hi there!
Just wondering does anyone know what the thinnest notebook cooler pad would be?

I have a HP dv7t and an xb4 docking base. However the new docking base has a really bad design flaw in that it limits the flow of air coming from the vents on the underside of the notebook (HDD vents, etc). The vents on the back are accessible but they have to work overtime when I'm running CPU/GPU intensive tasks.

I used to have an xb3000 base and that was much better in regards to air flow because the face which the laptop sits on had grooves running up and down letting air flow through the channels.
The new xb4 has none of those, opting for a smooth face with only the HP logo.

What I'm after is a notebook cooler thin enough to fit in between notebook and base, it would be better if it was thicker at the back and thinned out at the front (I expect the max thickness at the front would be no more than 1cm, and the back definitely no more than 3 or so cm).

This will eliminate any scuffing from the guard on the front of the base (with the volume and power controls) on the display cover of the notebook. I'm not fussed about USB ports, lighting, etc. I just need a thin, efficient and relatively cheap solution.

Opinions and reviews are welcome, just send them my way and I would be extremely grateful.

I'm not really sure I'd equate thin to effective...Sadly to fit any decent fans in it's going to be somewhat thick. And non fan pads are essentially useless. Iv'e had great experience with my Zalman NC-2000(though a bit pricey) it's kept my 8600 GT at MAX load never higher then 50C (and supposidly this is the GPU with serious heat issues).

As i said it keeps my 8600 GT-M on my Dell to 50C or less under MAX load. This is down from up to 64C beforehand. I realize it's pricey for a cooler but i can't reccomend it enough. I'm using Riva tuner right now and i have World of warcraft running as im typing this at max settings with two browser tabs open trillian running AVG running Spybot running and both CPU cores are at 19C and the GPU at 45C.

Thanks ahl, it looks like a very nice cooling pad, but it isn't really what I'm after, I was after something that is thin enough to fit between my notebook and current HP dock.

This is the front view showing the whole thing.

This is the front panel that scratches the display when I place something underneath the laptop to prop it up.

This is the dock without the laptop sitting on top; as you can see there are no grooves, air channels for any sort of air flow.

I had to use my phone camera, so the pics are a bit blurry/poor quality; hopefully you can still see the problem with this design flaw.

All it needs are some channels for air to flow through, or if there is a good quality/relatively cheap cooling pad thin enough to fit in between the laptop and dock.
    Thanks guys!
